Business Analyst

BizXcel is a business intelligence and consulting company which provides products and services to improve organizations’ planning, people and processes so they can achieve optimal performance.

We are growing and expanding and have opened an office in Syracuse, NY. We are searching for a detail-oriented Business Analyst to focus on project coordination, analysis and customer service to assist with our growing client base. In this hands-on, client facing role, you will be a key contributor working with clients nation wide.


  • You will be client facing to work directly with end users, to collect needs and determine objectives and requirements and create detailed business analysis, outlining problems opportunities and solutions

  • A key function of this role is to provide business analysis methods and documentation, for our wide variety of customers

  • At times, you may be involved in specific aspects of our project management processes with an emphasis in Agile methods; this may include coordinating project activities, preparing technical reports and analyzing and summarizing information

  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams, study system capabilities, and writing specifications will require you to be exceptionally detailed, organized, and process oriented to extract necessary information to assist the team to successfully deliver the project objectives

  • You will create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement, through your exceptional ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to a wide audience

  • You will rely on your experience and judgement to plan and accomplish your personal and project goals

  • You will provide world class customer service to external clients with respect to project and product/service related inquiries and support

  • Conducts testing of the solution and assist clients with user acceptance testing

  • Designs and conducts end-user training programs for software solutions developed

  • Travel may be required, on occasion


  • A Bachelors’ degree in a related area or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience extracting information from senior decision makers and clients, and working with a variety of team members

  • Advances Microsoft Excel skills and SQL experience

  • Working towards certifications in Business Analysis or Project Management and Agile considered an asset

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, analyze and find creative solutions while under deadline
